Loza Abera has signed for Tedeschi&Partners.
The Ethiopian captain and prolific striker for DC Power has signed a two-year contract. Loza’s signing further underscores Tedeschi&Partners Women’s commitment to expanding its reach from Europe to North and Central America. With the creation of the Gainbridge Super League (USL S) two years ago, the United States has reshaped the international football landscape, prompting our agency to delve ever deeper into US football. Following the transfer of our Mylena Freitas from SC Braga in Portugal to Brooklyn, the signing of the formidable centre-back/wing-back Adrienne Jordan, who spent last season at Fort Lauderdale, and Phoebe Canoles, who also played for DC Power last year, Loza joins the ever-growing roster of athletes in the United States. The agency’s expansion plan will see the opening of our second US office, following the one in New York, scheduled for Miami by the end of 2026.

In the world of women’s football, few stories are as compelling as that of Loza Abera. From the streets of Durame to the professional stadiums of Washington, D.C., the Ethiopian striker has redefined what it means to be a clinical finisher. Now a cornerstone of DC Power FC, Abera is not just scoring goals; she is inspiring a global generation.
A Natural-Born Finisher
Loza Abera is often described as a "generational talent" with an uncanny "nose for goal". Standing at 5'5", she combines explosive agility with a predatory instinct in the final third. Her playing style is characterized by:
Clinical Finishing: Whether it's a tap-in or a long-range strike, Abera finds the back of the net with remarkable consistency.
Creative Intelligence: Beyond her scoring, she adds a layer of creativity to the attacking line, making her a constant threat to defenders.
Impact Play: Abera has proven to be a game-changer, famously scoring within three minutes of coming off the bench for DC Power.
A Career Defined by Records
Before joining the inaugural USL Super League season in 2024, Abera had already established herself as one of Africa’s most prolific strikers. Her resume is a testament to her dominance:

Ethiopian Legend: She holds the record for the most goals in the history of the Ethiopian Women's Premier League, with over 200 career goals.
European Success: In Malta, she finished as the league's top scorer with a staggering 30 goals in just 12 appearances for Birkirkara F.C..
International Captain: As the captain of the Ethiopia National Team, she has netted 39 goals in 31 appearances, leading her country with both skill and grace.
Impact at DC Power FC
Since her historic signing as the first Ethiopian woman in a U.S. top-tier league, Abera has become a fan favorite at Audi Field. In the ongoing 2025/2026 season, she has continued her scoring ways, recently netting a crucial equalizer in stoppage time against Fort Lauderdale United FC.

The Pride of a Nation
For the massive Ethiopian community in the DMV (D.C., Maryland, Virginia) area, Loza is more than a player; she is a symbol of hope and professional excellence. "Talent without hard work is nothing," Abera often says, a mantra that has carried her from street football to the pinnacle of the American game.
As DC Power FC pushes for silverware, all eyes remain on their number 30. With her contract extended through 2026, the "Goal Queen" is only just beginning her American reign.
